Chickpeas are a great alternative to gluten-based recipes and also add nutrients, fiber, and protein to an otherwise nutritionally bleak treat. These doughy delicacies are a great gluten-free, vegan dessert or pick-me-up snack on the go.

INGREDIENTS


INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 350° F

  2. Grease an 8x8 baking pan

  3. Rinse and drain chickpeas, pat dry with a towel

  4. Mix all ingredients except chocolate chips in a food processor until a dough is formed

  5. Fold in chocolate chips by hand

  6. Flatten the dough in a baking pan with a spatula

  7. Bake 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean

  8. Cool for 20 minutes on a cooling rack, or eat straight from the pan
